摘要：The present review summarizes data on neurological adverse event s following vaccinat ion in the relation to intensit y, t ime of onset, taking into account the immunological and non-immunological mechanisms. The autho rs described the physio -logical development of t he immune system and the po ssible immune system responses following vaccination. To xic property of thimerosal - a mercury-containing preservat ive used in so me vaccines was presented. The neuro logical co mpli-cat ions after vaccinat ion were described. The role of vaccinat ion in the natural course o f infectious diseases and the current immunizations schedule in Poland was discu ssed
