摘要：Farming is one of the most dangerous occupations in Poland. The contribution of accidents in individual farming accounts for 25% of all accidents observed. In 2006 over 120 farmers died in work-related accidents. A decreasing trend of fatal accidents have been observed for the last 10 years. Children are at special risk of farm-related accidents. About 7.1% of all victims are persons below 18 years. Using of tractors and other farm machinery is a major source of injuries. Farm safety audits indicate that many of the farm tractors being used daily do not have safety equipment which could prevent injuries and save lives. It is necessary to reduce unintentional agricultural injuries of children by the state labour protection system. Farmers Social Insurance Found (KRUS) carried out prophylactic activities among farmers in an organized and systematic manner. Unfortunately since 2004 farm-related child injuries have not been monitored because of changing law on the social insurance of farmers.
