Introduction. Political and socio-economic transformation, which took place in Poland in the 90s, triggered a series of changes in the realm of the state healthcare.
A research carried out among Polish nurses shows the issue of this profession’s job satisfaction to be highly complex.
The research was aimed at evaluating community/family nurses’ satisfaction with the work they do.
Material and method. An opinion poll was carried out among 114 community/family nurses from 47 Non-public Healthcare Units in the Lublin Province.
Results and discussion. Analysis of results which has been completed indicates that the implemented community healthcare model does not contribute to an increase in satisfaction levels of community/family nurses. Traditional service offers do not satisfy nurses, who are aware of new challenges related to numerous changes both in healthcare and the society
