increase in morbidity rates due to cervical carcinoma is one of the main health problems among the population of Polish women. There is an alarmingly high percentage of women in whom the disease is diagnosed too late, decreasing the chances for recovery.
The nursing of women who underwent surgical treatment for cervical carcinoma consists mainly in the maintenance and monitoring of basic life functions, pain relief, dressing control, and observation from the aspect of possible postoperative complications.
Rehabilitation biased towards the improvement of physical, psychical and social states, as well as the quality of life, is very important in the process of recovery.
The objective of the study is the presentation of the main directions in nursing and rehabilitation of a patient after surgical treatment of cervical cancer, based on available literature.
The types of nursing procedures are discussed, and the justification for carrying out rehabilitation among women treated due to cervical cancer.
