The aim of the paper is to show the level of preparation of students completing nursing studies (Master’s degree) for educational tasks concerning health.
The research procedures included three main questions:
1. What is the level of health educational skills of students from the point of view of the work organization cycle and the level of their partial skills (elementary)?
2. Which classes taught during the studies did most strongly affect the students` preparation to carry out health education?
3. Which forms of cognitive activities are most relevant in the preparation of students for their educational functions concerning health?
The study was performed in February 2003 and involved 118 person (55 - full-time students, 62 - part-time students).
It was observed that:
- the assessment scores for health educational skills from the point of view of the work organization cycle ranged from 4.16 to 4.33 with max. scores = 5.0;
- the scores for 30 partial skills (elementary) evaluated according to the weight (value) average(the scale of scores 0-3) were varied and ranged from 1.45 to 2.67;
- the most useful and effective form of student’s cognitive activities was found to be an educational health project realized within the medical didactic.
