The parents’ participation in birth preparation courses can lead to changes in women’s opinions and fears concerning childbirth.
The aim of the study was to evaluate women’s opinions and fears concerning childbirth and their correlation with the women’s participation in birth preparation courses.
The research covered 100 women who gave birth to a child after having participated in a birth preparation course, and 200 women who gave birth without such preparation.
The study showed the influence of women’s preparation at the courses on opinions and fears related to childbirth.
Pregnant women who do not attend a birth preparation course form negative attitudes to childbirth. Parents’ preparation to childbirth, and the proportion of family child birth with the participation of the husband, is increasing.
