摘要：The classical theories and methods of historical linguistics were always challenged when studying the relationships among the East Asian languages. Here we suggested a method of syllable statistics. By measuring the syllable length of the 35 basic words in 352 East Asian languages, we generated a Neighbor-Joining tree of those languages. Our method will not be influenced by paronym recognition, and provides a new way of linguistic phylogeny study.
