摘要:Author analyzes five miniatures preserved in the matricula of carpenters' confraternity of St. Andrew from Dubrovnik, which is kept in the Diocesan Archives of Dubrovnik under signature no. 32. Historiography presumes that this confraternity was established in 1266. Its seat was at church of St. Andrew Apostle at Pile in Dubrovnik. Still, the confraternity also had some activities around church of St. Barbara, an after the big earthquake of 1667 they moved to church of St. Joseph. Thus, there is a question whether these miniatures date from the time of confraternity's foundation or, as Vojislav J. Đurić had presumed, from the sixteenth century? If the miniatures date from the late thirteenth century, which is opinion of author of this article, they are especially valuable because they shed a new light on the contemporary art in Dalmatia. Moreover, if this supposition is correct, these miniatures testify about economic power and cultural level of such laic craftsmen guild. Author analyzes iconography of all five miniatures (with a representations of St. George, St. Theodor the Tyron, St. Blaise and Virgin Mary, Calvary and Marriage at Cana), and emphasizes their stylistic and iconographic values.
