摘要:The results of measurements of F2 and F3 loci for prevocalic palatalized and nonpalatalized plosives in the standard Lithuanian language are presented. They confirm the general findings for other languages as well as for sonants in Lithuanian (Ambrazevi.ius, 2010), namely that F2 loci are the most significant and also relatively simply evaluated cues for differentiation between palatalized and nonpalatalized consonants. F2 loci for palatalized and plain versions of various (bila-bial, dental-alveolar, and velar) plosives are compared and interpreted. Perturbation theory is applied for the interpretation. Additionally, the corresponding com-parisons between the plosives and homorganic sonants, and between the Lithuanian and English plosives are performed. Influence of regressive coarticulation (ef-fect of succeeding vowels) on the loci is discussed. The methods developed cou ld b e appl ied for future investigations of palatalization of consonants in the standard Lithuanian language as well as in Lithuanian dialects
