摘要:Knowledge and information are essential for people to successfully respond to the opportunities and challenges of social, economic and technological changes. But to be useful, knowledge and informat ion must be effectively communicated to people.1Development communication is a very well familiar terminology in academic as well as practical field of journalism and mass communication subject. The practice of development communication can be traced back to efforts undertaken in various parts of the world during the 1940s, but the widespread application of the concept came about because of t he problems that arose in the repurcussion of World War II . The rise of the communication sciences in the 1950s saw recognition of the field as an academic discipline. The t erm "Development Communicat ion" was first coined in 1972 by Nora C. Quebral, who defines the field as- "the art and science of human communication linked to a society's planned transformation from a state of poverty to one of dynamic socio-economic growth that makes for great er equity and the larger unfolding of individual potential."2Development communication is the integration of strategic communication in development projects.
