摘要：The centrsl question examined in this paper may be stated at the outset. What are the boundaries or limits on changes in the distribution or assignment of rights among persons in a society that may be ""explained" on pounds of col~tinuing social contract? I do not provide more than a few suggestions toward a see of answers. E should argue, nonetheless, that the quesdioii is of vital importance in the 1970s. We witness everywhere what must be described as an erosion in the rights sf individuals, rights that were previously acknowledged.
