摘要:Jones et al. (2011) review a variety of elicitation methods foridentifying and describing stakeholders' mental models thathave been successfully deployed in a variety of naturalresource management (NRM) contexts. These methods arebroadly categorized into two classes. The first is directelicitation, where stakeholders work in conjunction with ananalyst to describe and produce a graphical representation ofthe model in an iterative and interactive fashion. This isdistinguished from indirect elicitation, where a research teamutilizes textual information from interviews, websites, andother documents to extract a graphical model via contentanalysis and/or the help of specially-designed computerprograms. The authors provide an explanation of thetheoretical underpinnings of the methods and challenges inapplying the construct to natural resource management.
