摘要:TOthe contrary of the USA where many studies have been made and arebeing developed, updated data in Europe about the state of educationin public relations (PR) does not exist. The most recent research was pub-lished in 1994 by the Conf′ed′eration Europ′een de Relations Publiques (seeCERP-Education 1994) and covered the state of education in 14 EuropeanUnion member countries (CERP 1991 and 1994) International Public Rela-tions Association (IPRA) study denominated "Wheel of Education" defendthat: "public relations education should strive to provide a well rounded ed-ucation which consists of a general liberal arts and humanities backgroundto which specific knowledge about communications and PR is added" (IPRA1990). At that time IPRA recommended education reinforcement to Master-ship level: "Placing the thrust of PR education beyond the Basic bachelor'sdegree would raise the intellectual quality of PR itself". Furthermore, "re-searchboth pure and applied – should be encouraged in educational spheresand in practice" (IPRA 1982).
