摘要:The outbreak of December 2008 againstpolice brutality through a wave ofdemonstrations and street protests inAthens, which was strongly advocated byprotest activities and practices across theworld, addresses several issues in rela-tion to the transformative potentials ofmediated collective action. The papercritically evaluates different accounts ofDecember events, probing then into thevery networking of that movement. Fromthis perspective, it points out another as-pect of the local-global interplay in pro-test culture along new mediating practi-ces (beyond the creation of transnationalpublics), that of the implications of trans-national networking for local social acti-vism and identification, addressing rele-vant questions in the Greek context
