摘要:A Gram positive, motile, mesophilic marineBacillus sonorensisstraincapable of producingextracellularlipasewasisolated from marine clams,Paphia malabarica, collected from Kalbhadevi estuary, India.Theefficiency of sesame oilcake as a substrate for lipase productionby marineBacillussonorensisstrainin submerged fermentation (SmF) hasbeen studied and reported. The sesameoil cake was selected as it is rich in protein, cheap, abundantly available being anagroindustrial waste and can be constructively used as one of the main constituent in medium formulation. Differentphysical and chemical parameters such as pH, temperature, and substrate concentration and incubation time wereoptimized. The lipaseactivity was found to be maximum when pH of medium containing 4% of mustard oil cake was5.0,at 40°C,after 48 hrsof sub merged cultivation. Further, the gro wth curve studies indicated that the production ofextracellularlipase was initiated in the early lag phase and was maximum in the late exponential phase
