摘要：Present scenario is based on intelligent systems that can work efficiently in place of humans so that stress of work can be reduced. Now a day we all look for such machines which can behave like humans i.e. the machine have the ability of taking decisions based on the information provided to it. Such machines are known as an Expert System or an Intelligent System. These machines are domain dependent or domain specific. These machines are being used in different fields such as medical, engineering, weather forecasting etc. But the main problems concerned with such machines are: whether the results are reliable. How the machine will differentiate among identical events. What the system will do when not all of the specifics are known. And how will the system fill the gap in its expertise. Etc. Such problems can be summarized by a single word Uncertainty. So by managing these all uncertainties better and efficient results can be achieved by a machine. Before moving ahead in this direction one must be aware of the earlier work which has been done in this field
