摘要:The subject of this contribution is to assess the effects of liming and the chosen form of application of dolomitic limestone powder on the biomass of young Norway spruce (Picea abies /L./ KARST.) trees. The analysis was carried out 12 years after planting. Both the roots and above-ground biomass of the carefully chosen sample trees belonging to the “control” variant are compared with the ones of sample trees belonging to ameliorated variants. Two different forms of limestone application are evaluated in this case: surface application and application in planting holes. There have been no negative impacts of liming observed in this particular experiment. On the contrary, liming has stimulated the production of roots as well as the above-ground biomass, and raised the total amounts of macronutrients bound in the sample trees. The top/root ratio in terms of biomass volume remained equal for all the compared variants. In spite of the flat-shaped root system of Norway spruce, an unusually shallow anchoring of roots of all the sample trees was surprising.
