摘要:Under natural conditions of Middle Europe, forests had formed indigenous vegetation cover before agricultural practices shifted a proportion of land use. Consequently, soil properties (especially top-soil horizons) have altered due to tillage and amendment. Nowadays, agricultural land has been converted back to forest land for many reasons. The process of soil restoration towards at least semi-forest soil under close-to-continuous stands seems to be a long-term process. The article is dealing with information gathered from both international and domestic literature; the aim of our study is to find links and consequences concerning afforestation of agricultural land from soil properties point of view.
