Las artes visuales, objetuales y performáticas chilenas, ubicadas entre la segunda mitad del siglo XX y los primeros años del siglo XXI, han mostrado, en muchas de sus manifestaciones, la recurrencia a la bandera chilena como parte de sus fundamentaciones y expresiones creativas. El presente artículo tiene, como su principal propósito, mostrar los avances y planteamientos de una investigación tendiente a rastrear, examinar y problematizar, tanto en términos individuales de obra y artista, como en una perspectiva de conjunto y de contexto, aquellas producciones, así como las trabazones que han armado dichas experiencias, entre arte y trama social e histórica en el ámbito chileno de las últimas décadas.

The Chilean visual, objective and performing arts have displayed the recurrent use of the Chilean flag in their creative expressions and foundations from second half of XX Century to the first years of XXI Century. This article aims to point out the basis and advancements of a research project tending to track, examine, and to know the problematic in the Chilean work, as a singular piece of art and the artist himself, as well as into a ensemble and contextual perspective, and the art link processes resulting of these experiences between the art and the social-historical web that gave birth to them during last decade.
