摘要：The objective of the present study is to analyze the influence of the classical tradition in the episode of the “Courts” that preceded the battle of las Navas de Tolosa. The complex intertextual relationships involved in this episode only can be understood in its entirety from the point of view of the classical legacy and the growing role of rhetoric in the writing of historiography during the low Middle Ages
