  • 摘要:Block Truncation Coding (BTC) is a streamlined and competent application for image compression.An improved BTC algorithm, namely EnhancedBlockTruncation Coding (EBTC), is presented inthis research study. Several gray scale imagesare used to appraise the coding efficiency andperformance of this proposed algorithm withexisting image compression algorithm. It is habitually shown that proposed algorithm givebetter result. In the EBTC algorithm, here bit planeis encoded to improve the compression Ratio and also improve the image quality. Simulation resultsshow that bit rate and PSNR of this proposed EBTC are better than BTC as well as the ABTCin terms of subject visual quality, and significantly improves the compression ratio of BTC
