摘要：The revolutionary internet and digital technologies have imposed a need to have a system to organize abundantly available digital images for easy categorization and retrieval. Our aim is to provide a semantic web based image search engine. Here the searching is based on the overlay text embedded in images. Overlay text consists of important semantic clues in videos as well as image content analysis such as retrieval and summarization, since the editor’s intention can be well represented by using these embedded texts. Proposed Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system encompasses several phases like image feature extraction, representation, mapping of features to semantics, storage and retrieval. We propose architecture for retrieval of image which is based on the extracted text. The CBIR systems have a big significance in the criminal investigation
