摘要:Over recent decades, the study of talents and creativity has markedly expanded across various settings and domains. Whether it is in the field of gifted education or in the world of finance and business or in pursuits of outdoor sports and recreation, the research and development of talents and creativity has been seen as a crucial part of the enhancements of these fields. Talented individuals who present creative innovations that influence people's lives, as in the likes of Bill Gates and the late Steve Jobs, strongly dominate the world as we know it. How do these individuals rise to their pedestals. What makes them perform they way they do and how can they be as creative as they are. Are they merely lucky or did they have more than chance on their side. These questions make us wonder how talents and creativity can be cultivated further in world citizens. Hence, this special issue of Talent Development and Excellence focuses on new directions in the study of talents and creativity in order to inform current and future research and practice in the area of talent development
