  • 摘要:A conceptual framework based in developmental psychology is used to trace how students' epistemic beliefs, or personal perspectives on learning, teaching, and knowledge, develop. Epistemic beliefs become more sophisticated as children mature and acquire more educational experience, moving from action-oriented ideas about what takes place in school to differentiated views of learn ing and teaching, to views that incorporate ideas about the nature of knowledge and personal views of learning and one's place in a knowledge tradition. Students' epistemic beliefs are an important framework for educational change. T hey suggest directions for supporting students in becoming active agents in their own learning and designing practices focused on active inquiry into student lear ning and educational environments conducive to deep engageme nt with thinking about learning and knowledge
