摘要:Formation of the large clear-cut areas in a period of increased air pollution had significant impact on the micro- and mesoclimatic changes of the site. Hydrological function of stands is being renewed together with the growth of young plantations. Impact of each tree species on the accumulation and melting of snow can be different. Paper compares influence of five tree species at the age of 20 years (rowan, mountain pine, European larch, Norway spruce, and birch) on the snow accumulation on the former large clear-cut area at altitude of 1,080 m in the Krkonoše Mts. Dwarf pine has showed the largest snow accumulation, when the snow cover does not exceed 1 m height. Generally the largest snow accumulation was found in Norway spruce thicket. At the time of spring snowmelting Norway spruce thicket can keep nearly by 400 mm more water compared to dwarf pine or birch stands. The amount of snow water delayed in the stands was generally greater compared with clear-cut area.
