摘要:Grand fir (Abies grandis) is one of the most interesting introduced forest tree species characterized by fast growth and massive wood production. To select the best-performing provenances, test trials were established in the Czech Republic. Part of this series is a provenance plot No. 217 – Strnady-Gamapole founded in 1982 within international series of experimental IUFRO trials. The series in the Czech Republic includes 6 research trials (No. 212 – Drahenice, No. 213 – Habr, No. 214 – Hrubá Skála, No. 215 – Ztracenka and No. 217 – Strnady-Gamapole). This paper evaluates quantitative traits (height, DBH) and qualitative characteristics (vitality, crown projection, tree class, and mortality) of each provenance at the age of 28 years. Results of provenance trial No. 217 – Strnady-Gamapole correlate with its previous evaluations and also with previous evaluations of Czech experimental IUFRO trials from the same series. The best results in terms of height and DBH showed provenances from Washington-coast area.
