摘要：The study is a preliminary evaluation of the volume and value production of Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii /Mirb./ Franco) on acid sites of the School Forest Hůrky, property of the Bedřich Schwarzenberg's Forestry College (Higher Forestry School) and Secondary Forestry School, Písek, Czech Republic. The Forest Management Plan data and the Growth and Assortment tables for the Czech Republic were used for management-oriented evaluation. The dynamics of current and mean volume and value increment was studied using Korf΄s growth function. The results confirmed that Douglas-fir volume production was superior to other domestic species (European beech (Fagus silvatica L.), oak (Quercus spp.), European larch (Larix europea L.), Norway spruce (Picea abies /L./ Karst.). Furthermore, Douglas-fir exhibited considerably higher value production as well. We can expect not only higher volume production and positive environmental effects compared to Norway spruce, but also quite high economic benefit resulting from the introduction of this species to a larger extent. Douglas-fir can replace Norway spruce on less convenient, i.e. dryer or lower sites.
