Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks can be used in an efficient way to distribute large scale scientific problems if the issues of heterogeneity, dynamism and volatility of peers can be effectively addressed. We introduce, and illustrate the use of, a P2P-based Highly Available Computing (PHAC) framework to distributed collaborative applications while improving their dependability and performance characteristics. The objective is to offer a P2P network based solution based upon high availability to improve an applications dependability and performance. To illustrate, we use the proposed approach to compute the results of ??to a certain precision.
