摘要：The instruments of diagnosing economic phenomenon or process are analyzed in the article, the usefulness of mathematic and statistical instruments of diagnostics is proved. It is recommended in diagnostic procedure to apply always descriptive statistics tools for the study of changes in the indicators. The further analysis of the system of the efficiency of indexes of enterprises production and economic activity should be continued by studying causal relationships between selected basic components of the efficiency: the efficiency of subsystems of production and economic activity of enterprises, the efficiency of certain resources use, social and environmental efficiency using the method of multivariate statistical analysis, i.e. canonical analysis. The logic of the diagnostic efficiency of productive and economic activity of enterprises using mathematic and statistical instruments is proposed
