摘要：Education, practice and theory. All three of theseaspects of information architecture (IA) are covered inour annual IA issue "Information Architects: What We Doand How We Learn." In our lead article, Robert Glushkopresents ideas about organizing as a general,interdisciplinary problem from his recent book TheDiscipline of Organization. He introduces a framework foranalyzing organizational problems and systems, touchingalso on the problems of teaching students fromheterogeneous backgrounds in a single course. Thechallenges of teaching IA, where interdisciplinarity is sopervasive, are also treated by Craig MacDonald and ThomHaller, our associate editor for IA. MacDonald conductedresearch to determine the sources from which practicingIAs say they learn their craft, while Haller explains theapproach he used for 15 years to teach IA. Finally, we coverpractice with both John Heffernan and Paula Land givingadvice about preparing and executing system migrations
