摘要:This annual report, the third in theseries, documents trends in immunisation cover-age in NSW for children, adolescents and theelderly, to the end of 2011. Methods: Data fromthe Australian Childhood Immunisation Register, the NSW School Immunisation Program and theNSW Population Health Survey were used tocalculate various measures of population coverage. Results: During 2011, greater than 90% coveragewas maintained for children at 12 and 24 monthsofage. For children at 5 years of age the improvementseen in 2010 was sustained, with coverage at ornear 90%. For adolescents, there was improvedcoverage for all doses of human papillomavirusvaccine, bothdoses of hepatitis B vaccine, varicellavaccine and the dose of diphtheria, tetanus andacellular pertussis given to school attendees inYears 7 and 10. Pneumococcal vaccination cover-age in the elderly has been steadily rising, althoughit has remained lower than the influenza coverageestimates. Conclusion: This report provides trendsin immunisation coverage in NSW across the agespectrum. The inclusion of coverage estimates forthe pneumococcal conjugate, varicella and menin-gococcal C vaccines in the official coverage assess-ments for 'fully immunised' in 2013 is a welcomeinitiative
