  • 摘要:Diplomas, acknowledgements and decorations, as a specific sign of social confirmation, followed the research and creative work of the founder of Croatian musicology Franjo Ksaver Kuhač from the 1860s to the first decade of the twentieth century. These honours were given by prominent individuals and institutions. Explanations of these awards emphasized various aspects of his work. Kuhač’s honours were researched by the musicologist Dubravka Franković (Zagreb, 22nd May 1930 — Zagreb, 14th December 2012). Based on her research, this paper provides an overview of Kuhač’s range of awards. Some of Franković’s statements were left undefined so further research was done. Documents listed in the paper are kept in the Croatian State Archives, in Kuhač’s personal archive fund (HR HDA 805 Kuhač, Franjo). They are preserved in bundles LXII and LXIII. A Matica Hrvatska greeting card from 1905 is preserved in bundle LXII, while 20 documents are preserved in bundle LXIII. According to the preliminary list made by Franković, three more are missing. Most of the documents represent diplomas that were given to Kuhač by different singing and musical societies. They appointed him an honorary member. Contents of these documents are important because they reveal Kuhač’s cultural significance at that time. Besides diplomas, acknowledgements and decorations, two calls for collaboration in international projects are kept in bundle LXIII. Among the later notifications is a letter from the Ban of Croatia, Teodor Pejačević, written in January of 1905. He informs Kuhač that Emperor Franz Joseph I has granted him the Knight’s Cross and awarded him a "Lifetime Achievement Award".
