摘要：Here we examine three better-knowntexts: History of the Filipino People(Agoncillo 1960), The Philippines: theContinuing Past(Constantino and Con-stantino 1978) and The Pageant of Philip-pine History(Zaide 1979). These havebeen required readings for fourth yearhigh school and first year college stu-dents for decades, and have simplifiedthe complex realities of war-time Philip-pines by depicting Filipinos as either warheroes or victims.
