摘要：In November 1996, before finishing a very pleasant experience as a member of the Hokkaido University Faculty of Law, I gave a talk sharing my thoughts on legal education in Japan and suggesting a number of reforms.1Since that time, Japan has been involved in a rapidly changing discussion relating to legal education in Japan, and it now appears that major changes in the structure of legal education in Japan are underway. However, building new schools, bringing students into new classrooms, and creating new programs constitute only the first stage; much more work will remain. Even as the structure of legal education in Japan is reformed, the form and content of legal education must also be considered
