摘要：The number of contemporary vic-tims, however, is uncle ar. In a 7 March 2003 press release, the Interna-tional Organisation of Migration (IOM) Deputy Director stated that 'two million w omen and children were trafficked across borders in 2001'. Patrick Twom-ey (2000), basing his figures on IOM estimates, counted four million people trafficked and as many as 200 million held in various forms of slavery world-wide. The IOM website currently claims that '700,000 women and children [are] trafficked yearly'
