Five different natural insecticides to eradicate Dysmicoccus brevipes Cockerell (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) were compared to a water-only control, in the vegetative (experiment 1) and reproductive phases (experiment 2) of Ananas comosus (L.) Merr. The evaluated treatments were Beauveria bassiana strainD0101, Beauveria bassiana strainD0106, Metarhizium anisopliae strain PL-43, aqueous extract of Citrus sp., extract of Quassia amara and a control group consisting of water. A randomized complete block experimental design with six treatments and six replicates was used. In experiment 1, pineapple plants treated with B. bassiana D0106 recorded an average of 1.68 insects per plant in comparison with the control group which recorded 3.26 insects per plant. In experiment 2, the sampling of insects in the peduncle, inflorescence, external bases and natural cavities of the fruit, the best results were obtained with B. bassiana D0101 and M. anisopliae in comparison with the control group.
