Precision agriculture is becoming a very important tool to optimize farming systems and produce more effectively. The implementation of this technology has permitted to increase production while utilizing only necessary resources. This technology requires maps or aerial photographs. The system includes a latex balloon of 5.1 m3 and a photographic camera of 12.1 Mega pixels set on a rotary base. The cost of the helium to elevate the balloon was found to be two times higher than to produce hydrogen with the reactor prototype designed and tested in this project. The reactor generates hydrogen by mixing sodium hydroxide and aluminum together. The aluminum was obtained from recycled aluminum beer cans. This project demonstrated that the system offers an alternative for small farmers.
