摘要:Oh, the irony—deans and other dignitaries love to have their pictures taken in front of our stacks of law books but at the same time inquire as to why any of those print volumes are needed in the age of the internet. They appreciate the symbolism of the law library because it physically manifests the intellectual process of learning the law. Academic law libraries have value as a “place” where law students become exposed to the range of research publications in print and in electronic databases they may have to choose from once they start their legal careers. Although the library is sometimes referred to as the heart of the law school, lately some deans are declaring that we should “pick another organ.”
