摘要:This paper addresses the ideological aspects underlying the philosophical ideas of Adam Smith’s thought regarding the notion of work contained in The Wealth of Nations (1776). The idea of work is related to other basic principles of liberalism, such as the market, the principle of competition and minimal state. It is considered that the idea of Adam Smith’s work is political and ideological implications affecting social life. It takes critical and refl exive view about liberalism, supported by authors such as Karl Marx. They propose a revolutionary vision of the work, surpassing its traditional relationship to the maximization of production. We conclude that the criticism of liberalism, particularly Marxism, which then led to the communist project, did not propose a revolutionary model that effectively changed the conception of work as productive work, or work good.
