摘要：During the first decades of 19thcentury, concerning the historical context, the European cartography shows a special interest for the mapping of South Eastern Europe. Among othermaps, a bilingual French/Greek map of "European Turkey, former Greece" is edited in Trieste in 1811 by Gaetan Palma. In this paper, starting from the analysis of its "external cartographic recognition" and after examining the "backstage" of its preparation, concerning apossible involvement of well known military and scientific personalities of its era, GaetanPalma's map is put in comparative evidence with other maps of the same area, using digitalprocesses, giving new insights as important element of Greek cartographic heritage
