摘要:The effluent procured from a typical 100 kw biomass gasification plant contains carbon particles that are presently recycled after being chemically treated to conserve water resources and improve economy. To reduce chemical usage and making it more eco-friendly, studies were conducted to treat the effluent with microbes and ultrasound. The microbe used to treat effluents was Psuedomonas putida. Both treatments resulted in an increase in COD values. In case of treatment of effluents with ultrasound in the absence of microbes showed an increase in the COD from 351.728 mgL-1to 894.275 mgL-1. For treatment with ultrasound followed by microbial treatment the value of COD increased from 1277.32 mgL-1to 1713.62 mgL-1. Microbial treatment was found to enhance degradation of the carbon particles
