摘要:As children acquire their first language, they face challenges that pertain to mapping which can defined as establishing meanings for new words. This paper endeavours to review some of these challenges from a theoretical perspective. Two mapping strategies are presented and discussed; the direct instruction from adults and inference of meaning. The paper also reviews theoretical foundations as well as factors that contribute to various solutions to these challenges
