At the beginning of the 20th century, Bogotá was called the «Athens of South America» for its literate culture; it later became «the Tenacious», one of the most dangerous cities in the world, and with the 21st century, it changed into the magical city of citizen culture, new mobility, abundant public space, and desire for social inclusion. In this new century, diverse mayors of the Left have tried to convert it into a social, humane, progressive, equitable, and sensitive city. The result: a good discourse and significant achievements, but very bad government practices.
