摘要:The 26th Special Session of the General Assembly of theUnited Nations, held in New York from 25 to 27 June 2001,represents the high water mark of global political commit-ment to the fight against HIV/AIDS. It was also the first timein its 54-year history that the General Assembly of theUnited Nations had convened to discuss HIV/AIDS as apublic health issue. More than 20 years since the onslaughtof the HIV/AIDS pandemic and after 60 million HIV infect-ions, the world community now has a plan of action forcombatting the pandemic
