摘要：On 12 December 2002, the Brisbane SouthsidePublic Health Unit commenced a cluster investi-gation of four notifications of S a l m o n e l l aTyphimurium infection amongst children underfive years of age within a defined geographicala rea in south-west Brisbane. Initial investi-gations found that these children attended thesame child-care centre (CCC). An OutbreakC o n t rol Team conducted investigations thatincluded surveillance, microbiological testing ofsuspected cases, inspection and environmentalsampling of food preparation facilities and otherequipment within the CCC, sampling of foodspecimens, review of menus and audits ofselected food suppliers
