摘要:The Australian Paediatric Surveillance Unit (APSU) continues to facilitate national active surveillance of uncommon childhood conditions. In 2011, its 18th year of operation, a range of infectious, vaccine-preventable, mental health, congenital and genetic conditions, and injuries were studied. From 1994 to the end of 2011, the APSU had run a total of 52 surveillance studies. For many childhood conditions, the APSU provides the only mechanism for national data collection.
