摘要：Objective: This study explored the information needsof rehabilitation therapists (occupational therapists,physical therapists, and speech-languagepathologists) working with patients who have hadstrokes in order to characterize their clinicalquestions, defined as their formalized informationneeds arising in the context of everyday clinicalpractice.Methods: The researchers took a constructivist,interpretive approach, in which fifteen rehabilitationtherapists working in various settings were recruited.Data were gathered using diaries, followed by diary-guided interviews, and thematically analyzed usingtemplate analysis.Results: Rehabilitation therapists' clinical questionswere characterized as having one or more of twelvefoci and containing one or more of eight possiblestructural elements.Conclusions: Findings demonstrate that the evidence-based practice framework currently applied forquestions relating to rehabilitation is inadequate forrepresenting rehabilitation thera pists' clinicalquestions. A new framework that is morecomprehensive and descriptive is proposed.Implications: Librarians working with students andclinicians in rehabilitation can employ knowledge ofthe twelve foci and the question structure forrehabilitation to guide the reference interview.Instruction on question formulation in evidence-basedpractice can employ the revised structure forrehabilitation, offering students and clinicians analternative to the traditional patient, intervention,comparison, outcome (PICO) structure. Informationproducts, including bibliographic databases andsynopsis services, can tailor their interfaces accordingto question foci and prompt users to enter search termscorresponding to any of the eight possible elementsfound in rehabilitation therapists' clinical questions
