摘要:This is a report on the impact of library workers'personal beliefs on provision of vaccinationinformation. Nine public librarians were interviewedabout a hypothetical scenario involving a patron whois concerned about possible vaccination-autismconnections. The analysis employed thematiccoding. Results suggested that while most partic-ipants supported childhood vaccination, tensionbetween their personal views and neutralityimpacted their ability to conduct the interaction. Theneutrality stance, though consonant with professionalguidelines, curtails librarians' ability to provideaccura te health information. Outreach and commu-nication between public and health sciences librariescan help librarians provide resources to addresshealth controversies
