摘要：The St. Louis Medical Society celebrated the one hundreth anniversary of the publication of Beaumont's book, "Observations and Experiments on the Gastric Juice and the Physiology of Digestion." The program was planned by Dr. Robert E. Schlueter, and it was arranged to cover every detail of the life and activities of William Beaumont. Dr. Major G. Seelig gave a very interesting paper on the biographical facts; Dr. Robert E. Schlueter, himself, revitalized Beaumont as a St. Louisan; Dr. Joseph Erlanger told about Beaumont as physiologist; and Dr. Louis H. Behrens gave an illustrative talk on the debt of St. Louis to Beaumont as a citizen and physician.
