I want to thank Miss Noyes and your committee for the opportunity to speak to you on Bookbinding, which I consider of real interest to any one who is in every day contact with books of any description. And I want to say that it was a lady librarian who helped me to get into one of the best binderies that existed at the time. Talleyrand once said that Speech was conferred upon man in order to enable him to conceal his thoughts. Well I am here to un-conceal many thoughts and things about books and bindings which I hope will be of interest to all of you.
